Biography

American Hi-Fi are a Boston-based US rock band formed in 1998 by multi-instrumentalist Stacey Jones, bass player Drew Parsons, guitarist Jamie Arentzen and drummer Brian Nolan. They released a self- titled debut album in 2001 and it produced the successful single 'Flavor of the Week' which is their highest charting single to date. 'Flavor of the Week' has come to define the band's sound having been used in numerous film soundtracks and as well as being a hit in the USA, the track made it into the charts in Italy, New Zealand and the UK. The band's follow-up album 'The Art of Losing' (2003) failed to make any significant headway in the charts and they were subsequently dropped by their label Island Records. After losing their contract with Island American Hi-Fi released four more albums over the next 13 years but none of them repeated the success of their debut album. Both Jones and Arentzen enjoy a parallel career as band members for Miley Cyrus.
