Biography

Farhad Mehrad, born January 20, 1944, in Tehran, Iran, was a singer known for his contributions to folk rock, pop rock, and rock music. He began playing cello at age three but later focused on guitar after quitting high school. Farhad's breakthrough came with The Four Elfs band, where he gained attention for his multilingual singing. In 1967, he joined the popular Iranian band Black Cats as a vocalist, guitarist, and pianist. Farhad released notable songs including "Marde Tanha" ("A Lonely Man") from the movie Reza Motori in 1969 and "Jomeh" ("Friday"), featured in the film Khodahafez Rafigh, in 1971. He passed away on August 31, 2002.
