Exhumed, an American death metal band from San Jose, California, was formed in 1990 by Matt Harvey. The group initially played goregrind and released numerous demos, split CDs, and EPs throughout the 1990s. Their debut album Gore Metal was released in 1998, blending death metal and grindcore. Exhumed's lineup underwent several changes over the years, with Matt Harvey remaining the sole constant member. The band released their second album Slaughtercult in August 2000, followed by Anatomy Is Destiny in 2003. After a hiatus from 2005 to 2010, Exhumed reformed and released All Guts, No Glory (2011). They continued with Necrocracy in 2013 and Death Revenge in 2017. Throughout their career, Exhumed toured extensively across the United States and Europe, appearing at notable festivals such as Wacken Open Air and Fuck the Commerce. The band followed up with albums Horror (2019), To the Dead (2022), and Red Asphalt (2026).
