Biography
Multi-instrumentalist, producer and co-founder of Ocean Industries Studios, Eric Bass is best known as the bassist in the band Shinedown. Born William Frederic Bass Jr. in Charleston, South Carolina, on October 23, 1974, he learned to play the piano and trombone, before moving on to guitar and drums. He joined a marching band and began his rock career with local group Sheldon, before forming Deepfield in 2002, producing their albums. In 2006, he became a producer and co-founded his own studio with Eric Rickert, before joining Shinedown in 2008 as bassist, composer and producer. In 2024, he launched his solo career with the single "Mind Control", followed by "Azalia", before the February 2025 release of his debut album I Had a Name, credited to Eric Bass Presents.
