Biography
Enon was an American indie rock band formed in 1997 by John Schmersal, Rick Lee, and Steve Calhoon. The group initially included members who had previously been part of Brainiac and Skeleton Key. Enon released their debut instrumental album Long Play in 1998, followed by the studio album Believo! in 2000 on SeeThru Broadcasting. After Calhoon's departure, Toko Yasuda and Matt Schulz joined the band. In 2002, they signed with Touch and Go Records and released High Society, which received critical acclaim for its evolving sound. Enon continued to release albums including Hocus Pocus in 2003 and Grass Geysers...Carbon Clouds in 2007. Throughout their career, Enon was known for their use of Moog synthesizers and Teisco guitars, as well as Schmersal's distinctive green guitar. The band disbanded in 2011.
