Biography

Emilio Pericoli, born on 7 January 1928 in Cesenatico, Romagna, was an Italian singer. His career began with a notable cover of "Al di là", originally performed by Betty Curtis, which became an international success. The song reached number three on the US Adult Contemporary chart and number six on the pop chart, selling over one million copies and earning a gold disc. In 1962, he participated in the Sanremo Festival himself, collaborating with composer Tony Renis to perform the hit song "Quando, quando, quando", which later became one of the best-known Italian ballads. The following year, he returned to San Remo with Renis for "Uno per tutte" and secured a spot in the 1963 Eurovision Song Contest, where he placed third. Throughout his career, he released several albums, including Secondo Il Tempo Che Fa (1953), Songs From San Remo 1957, and The Golden Hits Of Italy (1963). He also appeared in films such as Rome Adventure (1962) and La gitana y el charro (1964). Emilio Pericoli passed away on 9 April 2013 in Savignano sul Rubicone.
