Biography

Carlo Giuseppe Eugenio Buti, known as Carlo Buti, was born on November 14, 1902, in Florence, Italy. As a young boy, he was appreciated for his skill in the stornello technique. After vocal training with Raoul Frazzi, Buti began his career at Italian radio and signed his first recording contract with Edison Bell Records in 1930. He later signed with Columbia Records in 1934. Throughout his career, Buti released numerous albums and EPs including Italia Amata (1958) and Nostalgia D'Amore (1959). Buti's warm tenor voice earned him international acclaim. He also appeared in Italian films such as Napoli verde-blu (1935) and Per uomini soli (1938). Buti recorded over 1,574 songs from 1930 to 1957. He passed away on November 16, 1963, at his home in Montelupo Fiorentino.
