Biography
Electrodomésticos are a Chilean rock and experimental ensemble from Santiago formed in 1984. The group was established by Carlos Cabezas Rocuant, Ernesto Medina, and Silvio Paredes, originally performing improvisational music. They achieved professional recognition for their debut performance at the Teatro Moneda as the opening act for Primeros Auxilios. Their recording career began with the debut studio recording ¡Viva Chile! (1986), which featured the track âYo la querÃaâ (1986). They followed this with the studio recording Carreras de éxitos (1987), which included the tracks âEl frÃo misterioâ (1987) and âLigerezzaâ (1987). Following the departure of Medina in 1991, the ensemble became inactive in 1992 after a performance at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes. They resumed activity in 2002 and released the studio recording La nueva canción chilena (2004), which featured the track âHas sabido sufrirâ (2004). After becoming inactive again in 2005, they resumed activity in 2011. Their discography includes the studio recordings Se caiga el cielo (2013), Ex la humanidad (2017), and Mirar la luz (2024).
