Biography

Rodney Sebastian Clark Donalds, known professionally as El Chombo, was born on November 27, 1969, in Panama City, Panama. He began his musical journey at an early age, discovering his ability to modify songs and started creating mixes for nightclubs while working at a local radio station by the age of 16. El Chombo's career took off in 1994 with his production work on "Con quién estarás", performed by Gringo Man. His first studio album, Los cuentos de la cripta, released in 1996, marked a significant milestone. This was followed by Los cuentos de la cripta 2 in 1997, which featured collaborations with Puerto Rican artists like Felito. In subsequent years, El Chombo produced notable albums such as Los cuentos de la cripta 3, featuring "El gato volador", and Los cuentos de la cripta: Remixes. His work on the La Mafia series in 1998 and 1999 further established his presence. In 2006, he released the single "Chacarrón" which became viral due to its unique language. In 2016, El Chombo began creating educational music videos on social media under the brand Te lo dijo el Chombo. His content gained significant traction, particularly with the viral success of "Dame tu cosita" in 2018, which reached Number 1 on Billboard's Top Latin Chart. He continued to produce albums and singles, including A Mover el Culo Con el Chombo in 2016 and "La estaca" in 2022.
