Biography

Douglas Anderson Supernaw was born on September 26, 1960, in Bryan, Texas. He began his musical career performing locally in Texas before moving to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1987. Doug Supernaw signed with BNA Records in 1993 and released his debut album Red and Rio Grande, featuring the single "I Don't Call Him Daddy", which reached Number 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. He went on to release albums like Deep Thoughts from a Shallow Mind (1994) and You Still Got Me (1995). Doug Supernaw announced in February 2019 that he had been diagnosed with lung and bladder cancer. He passed away on November 13, 2020, at the age of 60.
