Biography

Daniel Robert Kausman, born 13 October 1972 in England, is a British DJ and producer known as DJ Die. After growing up in Barnstaple and moving to Bristol in 1985, he developed an early interest in house and hardcore, partnering with Jody Wisternoff and performing with the free‑party sound system Circus Warp. His first breakthrough came through a 1992 encounter with Roni Size at Replay Records, leading to collaborations such as "Music Box" for Full Cycle Recordings and a role in the Mercury‑Prize‑winning group Roni Size & Reprazent. DJ Die’s discography includes the 1999 release "Drop Bear" / "Poison Ivy", the 2009 EP "It’s a Big Up Thing" / "It’s a Jazz Thing (Utah Jazz Remixes)", and the 2012 EP "Grand Funk Hustle". He has released tracks under aliases like Break & Die and collaborated with artists including DJ Shadow and Towa Tei.
