Disarmonia Mundi, an Italian melodic death metal band from Avigliana, was founded in 2000 by producer and multi-instrumentalist Ettore Rigotti. The group initially faced several lineup changes before releasing their debut album Nebularium in 2001, which was self-produced by Rigotti. This album secured a distribution deal with Self for Italy and Cd-Maximum for Russia. Lineup issues delayed live performances and the recording of subsequent albums. In 2004, Disarmonia Mundi released Fragments Of D-Generation under Scarlet Records, featuring guest vocals from Soilwork's Björn "Speed" Strid. The band continued to collaborate with Strid on their next album, Mind Tricks, in 2006. Following the departure of Mirco Andreis, Rigotti and Claudio Ravinale continued as a duo to record The Isolation Game (2009) under their own label Coroner Records. In 2015, they released Cold Inferno. After a decade-long hiatus, Disarmonia Mundi released The Dormant Stranger in 2025.
