Biography

John O'Regan, born July 6, 1985, in Canada, is a singer who performs under the stage name Diamond Rings. After founding the post‑punk quartet the D'Urbervilles and later the Casio‑pop duo Habitat, he launched his solo career in 2008 following a degree in Studio Arts from the University of Guelph. His first release, the limited‑edition split single "All Yr Songs" (2009) with PS I Love You, introducing his electronic and synthpop style. In 2010, he issued the album Special Affections, which received favorable reviews and charted on the !earshot Top 50. His sophomore album Free Dimensional was released in 2012, and he performed the track "I'm Just Me" on the Late Show with David Letterman and The Tonight Show. Diamond Rings also toured North America opening for artists such as Robyn, Stars, and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, and collaborated with musicians including Gentleman Reg and Owen Pallett.
