Biography

Deviloof is a Japanese deathcore band formed in Osaka in 2015, by Keisuke (vocals), Daiki (bass), and Hiroto (drums) from the disbanded group All Must Die. Known for their flashy and aggressive visual style, blending deathcore with metalcore, brutal death metal, and grindcore, Deviloof are widely considered to be the most extreme band in the Visual Kei genre. The band draws inspiration from other Japanese visual kei bands like X Japan and Dir En Grey, citing Megadeth and Elvis Presley as influences, as well. In 2016, Deviloof played at Wacken Open Air, the world's largest metal festival, making it to the final round of music competition Metal Battle Japan, and releasing the mini-album Purge soon after. Over the coming years, the band experienced several line-up changes, seeing Ryuya depart in 2016 and Seiya and Hiroto replaced by Aisaku and Kanta in 2018, and after a short hiatus, the band re-emerged in 2019 with second album Oni, followed by Dystopia, two years later. In December 2022, Deviloof signed with major label, Tokuma, releasing the Damned EP in April 2023, and studio album Song for the Weak in January the following year.
