Biography
Daniel Rocco, professionally known as Des Rocs (born November 3, 1988), is an American rock musician based in New York. Born in Long Island, NY, U.S., he began his musical journey at the age of 13, performing in various venues including bars and basements, eventually becoming a lawyer at Epic Records and forming the band Secret Weapons, who attained a modicum of success, opening for popular bands such as Panic! at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer. The band went on indefinite hiatus in November 2018 and shortly after Danny Rocco embarked on his solo career, releasing his first EP titled Let the Vultures In, followed by Martyr Parade in 2019 and This Is Our Life in 2020, with the EPâs title track debuting at number 23 on the US Mainstream Rock chart. Bringing together a distinctive combination of rock and roll, blues, and hard rock music genres, Des Rocs announced his debut album, A Real Good Person in a Real Bad Place, in July 2021 along with the release of the album's first single, "MMC (Mickey Mouse Club)â as well as "Imaginary Friends" and "Hanging by a Thread," which were praised by critics for their bold and inventive sound. Following several successful tours, Des Rocs released the energetic rock anthem "Never Ending Moment" in April 2023, which reached number 33 on the charts and "Nowhere Kid" in June. Signed by Sumerian Records shortly after, Des Rocs released his second album Dream Machine in August 2023. In 2024, he partnered with Cris Velasco, Joshua Carro, Finishing Move Inc., Christian Pacaud, and Casey Diiorio on the Borderlands 4 video game soundtrack. In 2026, he returned with his third solo album, To Hell and Back, featuring the hit "When the Love Is Gone," which peaked at number 39 on the Mainstream Rock chart.
