Biography
Black Pistol Fire is a Canadian-born alternative rock duo. Band members Kevin McKeown (guitar/vocals) and Eric Owen (drums) became friends in kindergarten but didnât start playing in a band together until they were in high school. Their musical style blended southern rock, blues, garage rock, and rhythm & blues. Black Pistol Fire released their self-titled debut album in 2011. The album featured âSuffocation Bluesâ, one of their best-known tracks. As the bandâs fanbase continued to grow, they relocated to Austin, Texas. Their albums â including Big Beat â59 (2012), Hush or Howl (2014), and Donât Wake the Riot (2016) â earned the band critical acclaim. Their fifth album, Deadbeat Graffiti (2017) featured two tracks that achieved heavy airplay in Canada: âLost Causeâ and âBully.â The hard hitting album, Look Alive, was released in January of 2021. Flagrant Act of Bliss, released January 2026, featuring the singles, "Low Twang" and "Rock Bottom" featuring Gary Clark Jr.
