Biography

The Damned Things are an amalgamation of members of Fall Out Boy (Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley), Anthrax (Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano) and Every Time I Die (Keith Buckley and Josh Newton). Merging elements of all three bands, they had their debut at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, New York in 2010 and made a big impact at the summer festivals, particularly at European events such Download - the annual hard rock festival at Donington Park, England. "We were both interested in putting together a heavy/classic rock, blues-orientated, riff-based band while trying to stay away from what makes that sound generic and overplayed," said Joe Trohman. Their debut single We've Got A Situation was released through iTunes in October, 2010, followed by their first album Ironiclast which was produced by Trohman and Caggiano. Mixing poppy melodies with heavy metal, tracks like Handbook For The Recently Deceased, Bad Blood, Little Darling and Grave Robber won them comparisons with the great classic rock bands of the past and instantly topped the Heatseekers chart.
