Biography
Dean Owens, born and raised in Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland, is a Scottish singer-songwriter. His musical career began with the formation of Smile in the 1990s, which released the single "Obvious" on Different Class Records. He then formed The Felsons, known for their Celtic/Americana sound, and released albums such as One Step Ahead of the Posse (1996). His solo career started with The Droma Tapes in 2001. Notable releases include Cashback (Songs I Learned from Johnny) (2012) and Southern Wind (2018), which won the UK Americana Music Association Award for British Song of the Year in 2019. Owens has collaborated with Neilson Hubbard and Amy Geddes under the name Redwood Mountain, releasing an eponymous album in 2017. His releases include the album Sinner's Shrine (2022).
