Days of the New was an American rock band from Charlestown, Indiana, formed in 1995. The group initially started as a solo acoustic project by vocalist/guitarist Travis Meeks during his teenage years. In 1996, Days of the New signed with Outpost Recordings and released their debut album Days Of The New (informally known as the Yellow or Orange album) in 1997. This album featured hits such as "Touch, Peel and Stand", which topped Billboard's Rock Chart for 17 weeks, and "The Down Town" and "Shelf in the Room", both of which were top 40 hits. The band toured extensively but faced internal issues leading to their disbandment in February 1999. Meeks then formed a new lineup under the same name and released Days Of The New (Green) in August 1999, followed by another self-titled album Days of the New (Red) in September 2001. Notable members included Jesse Vest, Todd Whitener, and Matt Taul, who later formed Tantric, and Nicole Scherzinger, who went on to become a frontwoman for the Pussycat Dolls.
