Pierre David Guetta was born in Paris on November 7, 1967. He started out as a nightclub DJ, while studying law at university. Inspired by British house music, his reputation in the French capital gradually grew, until he became one of the leading figures of Parisian nightlife, running several clubs with his wife Cathy Guetta, including Le Palace and Les Bains Douches. A turning point in his career came in 2002: after signing with Virgin thanks to his hit "Just a Little More Love" (No. 29 in France), he sold all his establishments and decided to devote himself to his career as a producer. He followed this up with several hit singles, such as "Love Don't Let Me Go" (#4) in 2002, and the acclaimed remix of David Bowie's "Heroes" , entitled "Just for One Day (Heroes)", which reached #54 in 2003. A prolific producer, he repeatedly came close to topping the charts, as with "Love Is Gone" (No. 3 in France and No. 9 in the UK). He did so again in 2009, when his "When Love Takes Over" and "Sexy Bitch" both reached No.1 in the UK charts. The same year, he produced the Black Eyed Peas hit "I Gotta Feeling ". From then on, he racked up a string of No. 1 hits in the international charts and became the most sought-after DJ-producer of the 2010 decade, working with singers such as Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Emeli Sandé, among others. For his 2018 album 7, he collaborated with Sia, Nicki Minaj, The Script, Afrojack and John Legend. In 2021, once again named "best DJ in the world" in a poll conducted by the British monthly DJ Mag, he performed at the Louvre during the New Year's Eve concert and released a remix of his own hit, "Memories " (No. 5 in France in 2010). This new version, still featuring rapper Kid Cudi's vocals, returned to the charts (No. 97 in Germany). Between 2024 and 2026, he worked with Bebe Rexha, OneRepublic, IVE and Jennifer Lopez ("Save Me Tonight" and "Salvame Hoy"). In 2026, he collaborated with Marten Hørger on the Men Machine EP, featuring the track "The Past, the Present, the Future".
