David A. Jaycock is a British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who performs folk and electronic music. A member of the experimental band Big Eyesâwhich he joined in 2002 and which changed its name to The Big Eyes Family Players in 2006âhe contributed to several of their recordings before launching a solo career alongside his work with the band. He released the albums *The Improvised Killing of Uncle and Other Mythologies* (2006), *The Coleopterous Cuckoos Collude* (2007), *Presets* (2010), and *Ten Songs* (2013). In 2015, he formed a duo with Mary Waterson for the albums Ten Wolves (2015) and Death Had Quicker Wings Than Love (2017), released on the One Little Indian label. He has recorded additional solo albums and collaborated with other artists, including Andrew Burge. Coming from the folk scene, he turned to ambient electronic music, notably with the albums Music for Space Age Shopping in 2024 and The Children of Cold War: Phase 7 in 2026. In the meantime, he collaborated with James Yorkston and Lina Langendorf on the album Yorkston - Jaycock - Langendorf.
