Biography

Born on July 2, 1976 in Val-d'Or (Canada), Dany Bédar is a pop singer from Quebec. He left his native region in 1985 to settle in Montreal (Canada). In 1993, he joined Sex Solution as bassist. In 1998, he joined La Chicane's touring technical team. A few weeks later, without knowing how to play bass, he says yes when Boom Desjardins asks him to join the band as a musician. He stayed with the band until 2002, when he launched his solo career with the album Fruit de Ma Récente Nuit Blanche . Four songs from his first opus hit the Quebec charts: " Faire la paix avec l'amour ", " Histoire du bon vieux temps ", " Sourire " and " Voyeur ". His second album, Écoute-Moi Donc, was released in 2004, after a sold-out tour of Quebec, with the song " Y'a du monde ", which stayed at number one for 12 weeks. The album won the Félix for pop-rock album of the year at the ADISQ gala the following year, and Dany Bédar was voted male performer of the year at the same gala. In 2008, he released the album III, including the hit " Oublier ", and became drummer for a band called La Brassée. He also composes songs for other artists, including Annie Villeneuve, Isabelle Boulay and Marc Dupré. He released four new albums during the 2010 decade: L'Avocat du Yab in 2011, On A Tous une Histoire À Conter in 2012, Le Meilleur de Moi in 2016 and a self-titled album in 2019. He returns with La Chicane from 2017 to 2022 for the La Chicane: 20 Ans Déjà tour.
