Biography

Danny de Munk is a Dutch singer and actor born on 19 February 1970 in Amsterdam. He began his career at age 12 and achieved professional recognition for the film Ciske de Rat (1984) and the title track “Ik voel me zo verdomd alleen” (1984). The single reached Number 1 on the Dutch charts and became the best-selling single of the year. He released his eponymous debut studio album, Danny de Munk (1985), and followed it with the recording ’n Jaar later (1987). De Munk established a career in musical theater, portraying Marius in the 1991 production of Les Misérables. His discography includes the track “Vrienden voor het leven” (1991) and the studio albums Danny (1995) and Hart en ziel (2008). In 2008, he was appointed a Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau. His subsequent work includes the studio recording Dit is mijn leven (2010) and the single “Zo verdomd alleen” (2013).
