Daniela Simmons, born on December 9, 1959, in Perugia, Italy, is a Swiss singer. Raised by Italian parents, her father's musical background influenced her early interest in music. By age three, she was singing and composing songs at thirteen. She studied piano at the Conservatoire de Lausanne. In 1984, Simmons won La Grande Chance, a young artists' competition on Swiss television, with "Une autre vie", which she composed herself. The following year, she recorded her album, Shout Back, in London, which was released in 1988, and embarked on an Italian tour with Enrico Ruggeri, Mariella Nava, and Fiorella Mannoia. In 1986, Simmons represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Bergen, Norway, with "Pas pour moi", composed by Atilla ÅereftuÄ and written by Nella Martinetti, securing second place. She married ÅereftuÄ in 1991. Notable albums include Un'Altra Donna (1998) and Daniela Simmons (2004).
