C-Tec, initially known as The Cyber-Tec Project, was an EBM group formed in 1995 by Jean-Luc De Meyer of Front 242, Jonathan Sharp of New Mind, and Ged Denton of Crisis n.T.i. Their debut EP Cyber-Tec was released under Synthetic Symphony in August 1995. After shortening their name to C-Tec, they released their first full album Darker on Wax Trax! in September 1997. The band toured North America twice in 1998 with a hybrid lineup featuring members of Cubanate and Julian Beeston. Their second album Cut, released in February 2000, peaked at number 25 on the German Alternative Charts Top 50 Albums of 2000. C-Tec went dormant after the release of Cut. In September 2018, both Darker and Cut were remastered and re-released as Darker/Cut, leading to a corresponding North American tour featuring De Meyer, Heal, Denton, and Sean Payne.
