Biography
Criminal is a Chilean thrash metal and death metal band, formed in late 1991 in Santiago by Anton Reisenegger and Rodrigo Contreras. The original lineup included J.J. Vallejo on drums and Juan Francisco Cueto as bassist. Their debut show in April 1992 opened for Kreator, followed by the release of two demos, Demo (1992) and Forked Demo (1992), that gained local attention. In 1994, they independently released their first album, Victimized, which sold 1000 copies within three weeks and was distributed internationally. Their second studio album, Dead Soul (1997), received critical acclaim and established them in Europe. They collaborated with Exodus and Napalm Death for the release-show of this album. In 2004, after relocating to Colchester, England, they released No Gods No Masters, which was inspired by anarchist movements. They opened for acts like Megadeth and Metallica. Other albums included Cancer (2000), Sicario (2005), White Hell (2009), Akelarre (2011), Fear Itself (2016), and Sacrificio (2021). Extended plays included Live Disorder (1996). Live albums included Slave Master Live (1998).
