Crashdïet, a Swedish glam-metal and sleaze-rock band, was formed in 2000 by singer David Hellman alias Dave Lepard. After releasing three demos, Dave Lepard parted ways with the original members due to musical differences and re-established Crashdïet in 2002. The band's early EP, released in 2003, led to their signing with Universal Records and the release of Rest in Sleaze in May 2005, which was well-received by critics. However, the band faced a tragic loss when Dave Lepard died by suicide in January 2006. Crashdïet disbanded but resumed activities in 2007 with Finnish singer H. Olliver Twisted, releasing The Unattractive Revolution that November. The band's lineup changes continued, with Simon Cruz joining in 2009 and Gabriel Keyes taking over in December 2017 and John Elliot replacing him later. Significant releases include Generation Wild (April 2010), The Savage Playground (January 2013), Rust (September 2019) and Automaton (April 2022). In 2026, they returned with their seventh studio full-length, Art of Chaos.
