Biography

Constantines, an indie rock band from Guelph, Ontario, Canada, was formed in 1999 by vocalist and guitarist Bryan Webb, drummer Doug MacGregor, bassist Dallas Wehrle, and guitarist Paul Bright. The band's lineup solidified with the addition of Steve Lambke on guitar after Bright left early on. They released their self-titled debut album in 2001, which was nominated for a Juno Award for Best Alternative Album. Their album, Shine a Light, topped the !earshot National Top 50 chart in 2003 and earned them another Juno nomination. The band's subsequent albums include Tournament of Hearts (2005) and Kensington Heights (2008). The band enjoyed widespread play on campus radio and performed at notable festivals such as SP20 and Kazoo!Fest. In 2014, the band reunited for a series of performances, including shows at SappyFest and Massey Hall in Toronto. In 2020, they independently released the charity single “Call Me Out”, donating all proceeds to Black Lives Matter Toronto and the Unist’ot’en Camp Legal Fund.
