Biography

Claude Lombard, born Claude Élise Marcelle Deruyck on February 25, 1945, in Etterbeek, Belgium, was a renowned Belgian singer-songwriter, artist, and voice-over director, known for her contributions to French chanson, contemporary music, children's music, and pop genres. Claude Lombard's musical journey began in the mid-1960s, with her debut single "L'Amour de toi" (1965) and she gained international recognition by representing Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1968 with "Quand tu reviendras." Her discography includes memorable albums like Chante (1969) and her work on numerous television animated series soundtracks cemented her status in the French music scene. Beyond her solo career, Claude Lombard was Charles Aznavour's backing vocalist and ventured into musical direction for children's entertainment, contributing to Disney productions and French adaptations of animated series. She passed away on September 20, 2021, in Boulogne-Billancourt, Hauts-de-Seine, France.
