Biography

Choi Jin-young (November 17, 1970 – March 29, 2010) was a South Korean actor and singer, known for his emotional depth and creative versatility. He began his career in 1987 as a commercial model and transitioned to acting in 1990. Choi rose to fame in 1993 with the TV drama Our Paradise, where his resemblance to his sister, the iconic actress Choi Jin-sil, helped catapult him into the spotlight. Despite an early surge of popularity, his acting career faced challenges. After completing military service in 1999, Choi reinvented himself as a singer under the stage name SKY. His debut album, Final Fantasy, and the hit single "Forever" achieved significant commercial success, marking a triumphant return to the entertainment industry. He released two more albums, Eternal II (2001) and Sky the 3rd (2004), before returning to acting in 2007 with a supporting role in It's OK Because I Love You. Tragically, Choi struggled with depression following the suicide of his sister in 2008. Despite efforts to return to his career and study acting at Hanyang University, he succumbed to his struggles, passing away in 2010.
