Chiemi Eri, born Chiemi Kubo on January 11, 1937, in Tokyo, Japan, was a singer. She began her career at 14 with "Tennessee Waltz" and performed on American military bases, blending Japanese songs with American standards like "Jambalaya" and "Come on-a My House". Eri's acting career ran parallel to her music; she formed a trio with Hibari Misora and Izumi Yukimura. Notable releases include Chiemi Sings Standards (1959) and collaborations like Chiemi Eri & The Delta Rhythm Boys (1961). She released her final single, "Sakaba Nite", in 1974. Eri passed away on February 13, 1982, due to a stroke with asphyxiation. Her music has seen posthumous releases such as the album Chiemi Eri (2016) and the single "Come on-a My House / Jingle Bells" (2016).
