Charlie Cruz (born 3â¯Aprilâ¯1975 in Naguabo, Puerto Rico) is a salsa singer who grew up in Paterson, Jersey, and returned to Puerto Rico. He first appeared as a vocalist on his father Fonzy Cruzâs recordings and studied piano while working with Domingo Quiñonesâs orchestra. His breakthrough came with the 1999 album ImagÃnate, followed by Asà Soy (2000), Un Chico Malo (2001), and Ven a Mi (2003). In 2003 he released the EP Super Seis, and in 2008 the album Dinámico under a new label. Notable tracks include "Amor de Verdad" (remix, 2016) and "Tú Me Confundes." In 2013 he released Huellas, framed as a tribute to Frankie Ruiz and featuring a guest appearance by Domingo Quiñones, and in 2016 he joined Bobby Cruzâs Salsa Factory Bunch. His later output shifted toward EPs and singles, including Tentaciones VOL 1 (2021), Tentaciones VOL 2 (2022), and Recordar Es Vivir (2023), followed by a run of standalone releases and collaborations such as âNuestro Aniversarioâ (2024), âLo Que Se Ve No Se Preguntaâ with Naomi-Z (2025), âPastele y Lechonâ (2025), and âElla No Tiene La Culpaâ (2026).
