Charlene Kaye, born September 12, 1986, in Honolulu, Hawaii, is an American singer-songwriter who began playing music at an early age. She released her debut album Things I Will Need in the Past in 2008 and gained attention with the duet "Dress and Tie" featuring Darren Criss in 2011. Her second full-length album Animal Love (2012) reached Number 15 on the iTunes pop charts and received critical acclaim. Kaye also performed at the SXSW Music Festival in March 2011 and 2013. In April 2014, she joined San Fermin as their lead vocalist, touring behind their record San Fermin and recording two subsequent albums, Jackrabbit (2015) and Belong (2017). Kaye left the band in April 2019 to focus on her solo career under the name KAYE. Her first release as KAYE was the EP Honey, released in September 2016, followed by several non-album singles and the album Conscious Control in 2020.
