Celtas Cortos is a Spanish rock band from Valladolid. Formed in 1986, the group was founded by musicians including Jesús Cifuentes and Goyo Yeves. The ensemble released its debut studio album, Salida de emergencia, in 1989. Composed of instrumental tracks, the record sold 60,000 copies. In 1990, the band issued the album Gente impresentable, which sold more than 180,000 copies and introduced vocals to their sound. Their third studio album, Cuéntame un cuento (1991), sold over 300,000 copies and featured the songs â20 de abrilâ and âCuéntame un cuentoâ. Their subsequent recordings included the studio albums Tranquilo majete (1993), En estos dÃas inciertos (1996) and Tienes la puerta abierta (1999). Cifuentes left the band in 2002 but returned in 2006 for the release of the compilation 20 soplando versos. Their later studio albums included 40 de abril (2008), Introversiones (2010), Contratiempos (2014) and EnergÃa positiva (2018). In 2024, the ensemble released the album El mundo del revés, which featured orchestral arrangements by Gerardo Estrada MartÃnez.
