Scott Alan Klayton, known professionally as Celldweller, was born on September 26, 1972, in the United States. He began his career in the mid-1990s with the industrial metal band Circle of Dust. After its dissolution, Klayton released a posthumous collection titled Disengage and an album for Angeldust, a project created with illusionist Criss Angel. In 1998/1999, Klayton started creating songs for Celldweller and released a limited edition EP of early demos. The self-titled debut album Celldweller, released in early 2003, debuted at number 17 on Billboard's Internet Sales Chart and won seven awards at the Just Plain Folks Music Awards, including Album of the Year and Producer of the Year. Klayton continued to release albums and EPs under the Celldweller project, including Wish Upon a Blackstar (2012), Offworld (2017), and Satellites (2022). His music has been featured in various films, television shows, and video games.
