Angelina Helen Catherine Cordovano, known professionally as Cathy Carr, was born on June 28, 1936, in the United States of America. She began her career as a singer during the early-1950s, releasing several singles including "Heart Hideaway" and "Please, Please Believe Me" in 1956. Carr continued to release notable songs such as "Ivory Tower" (1956), "Una Momento / It Looks Like Love" (1957), and "Wild Honey" / "Speak For Yourself" / "John" (1957). In 1958, she released the single "To Know Him Is To Love Him / Put Away The Invitations" which became one of her most recognized works. Carr also released an album titled Shy in 1959. Her career spanned over three decades, with notable releases including "First Anniversary" and "The Next Time The Band Plays A Waltz / Sailor Boy". Despite facing challenges typical for artists during that era, Cathy Carr maintained a steady output of music until her passing on November 22, 1988.
