Biography

Carol Lloyd, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was an American singer known for her work in the disco genre. In August 1979, she signed with EarMarc Records, a division of Casablanca Records, and began working on her debut album Score. Produced by Michael Forte and Bruce Weeden, the disco-oriented album featured collaborations with saxophonist Mark Adler and drummer Robert Sonsini. The title track "Score" was released in September 1979, followed by a cover of Four Tops' "Shake Me, Wake Me (When It's Over)" in December 1979. Her second album Love Carol, released in 1983 under Philly World Records, received little attention. Both albums were digitally reissued in the United States by Essential Music Group in 2014 and 2016 respectively.
