Candice Hoyes â born in Boca Raton, Florida â is a New York-based singer and activist. She began her musical journey studying piano at the age of six. By the time she was 11, she was singing professionally in childrenâs theater. She won the Fitzie Prize while attending Harvard University, which provided voice lessons at Boston Conservatory. Candice Hoyes has a masters in Voice Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College. Her debut album, On a Turquoise Cloud, was released in 2015. The album was comprised of rare Duke Ellington songs with fresh, new arrangements. On a Turquoise Cloud rose to Number 10 on the Jazz Albums chart. Candice Hoyes worked on her second album with Grammy Award-winning pianist Sullivan Fortner and producer Casey Benjamin. In August 2020, she released the single âZoraâs Moonâ (featuring vibraphonist Joel Ross) followed by another single, âWaiting for the World (Tired)â, in February 2021.
