Caballito y Su Sabor de Labana is a Lima-based salsa/timba band led by Joseph Uribe that emerged from Peruâs live club circuit and social video ecosystem, shaping a high-energy repertoire of romantic and barrio anthems under the stylized Labana banner. After building a following on stage, the group began releasing official digital singles in 2024, starting with âEl Pillo,â âLa Noche,â âTú No Me Calculas,â and the medley âMix Elito Revé: El Teléfono / Uyuyuy / Jala Jala,â which established their brass-driven arrangements, tumbao-heavy rhythm section, and call-and-response coros. Their momentum carried into 2025 with a more consistent studio presence: âVoy a Pedirte de Rodillasâ became a signature live and streaming cut, soon followed by new versions of âTe BuscarÃaâ and âLa Entrega,â plus an in-studio rework, âVoy a Pedirte de Rodillas (Studio Session),â that highlighted the bandâs tighter, punchier mix. By mid-year, they expanded their catalog with âDÃgale Usted,â capping an 18-month stretch that elevated the project from local favorite to a national salsa proposition, supported by frequent concert clips and regional touring. Across these releases, Caballito y Su Sabor de Labana refined a sound that balanced classic salsa romántica melodies with timba energyâbright piano montunos, busy congas and timbales, unison trombones, and stacked corosâwhile keeping their setlist fluid enough to feature medleys and crowd-led singalongs.
