The daughter of Turkish musician Ali GüneÅ, Izmir-born folk-pop singer-songwriter Burcu GüneÅ began performing jazz and pop songs at hotels and resorts with her father as a teenager. In 1998, she kickstarted her own recording career with the energetic single âAlimallahâ and debut album, AÅk Yarası, which featured contributions from prominent Turkish musicians. GüneÅ made her mark with albums Tilsim (2001) and Ay Sahit (2004), which featured hit singles "Sahilden", "Ay Sahit" and "Son Mektupâ. 2006 saw the release of the Ben Ates Ben Su album, and in 2008 GüneÅ offered a modern electronic update to her oeuvre with remix album Burcu GüneÅ on the Club. After being a household name in popular music for over a decade, a folk album titled The Sun of Anatolia surfaced in 2018. In 2020, GüneÅ released a number of singles, including âBenim Hala Umudum Var / Ah Bu Benâ and âBir Kadinâ.
