One of the biggest stars in Turkish pop, Kenan DoÄulu is best known for the diamond-certified album Demedi Deme, the platinum-selling Festival, and Number 1 singles like "Ãakkıdı" and "...Dan Sonra." He was born in Istanbul on May 31, 1974, and raised in an artistic household that included his musician father, Yasin DoÄulu, as well as his composer brother, Ozan DoÄulu. A singer and talented multi-instrumentalist from a young age, he made his pop music debut with 1993's Yaparım Bilirsin. DoÄulu began writing songs for other artists, too, including singers like Bora Ãztoprak, Emel Muftuoglu, and Bengü. His solo career soon eclipsed his compositional work, though, with 2003's Demedi Deme reaching diamond status and its 2006 follow-up, Festival, earning chart-topping hits with "BaÅ Harfi Ben" and "Ãakkıdı." He returned to Number 1 in 2007 with "â¦Dan Sonra," his duet with fellow singer Sıla, and represented Turkey at the Eurovision Song Contest later that year with the song "Shake It Up Åekerim," ultimately earning fourth-place finish. Two years later, he climbed to number 2 with "Rütbeni Bileceksin." "Rütbeni Bileceksin" appeared on the album Patron, which was followed by 2012's AÅka Türlü Åeyler, 2018's Vay Be, and a string of non-album singles. His success continued into the early 2020s with "Yıl MarÅı," which reached number 27 on Turkey's Top 100 Apple Music chart, and "AÅk Oyunu," which debuted at number 74 on the same chart.
