Biography

Cristian 'Bugo' Bugatti is an Italian singer-songwriter who brings together an eclectic range of influences into a sometimes experimental, stripped back sound that leaps between genres. Born in Novara in 1973, Bugo learned to play guitar while serving in the military but got his music career started with a stint as a drummer in a punk band. By 1999 one of his solo demo tapes had found its way to Bar la Muerte label head Bruno Dorella and Bugo had his first couple of releases through the indie label. Following a single and a split EP Bugo got his first album, 'La Prima Gratta', in 2000. 'Sentimento Westernato' followed in 2001 and in 2002 he made his major label debut with 'Dal Lofai al Cisei' through Universal. In 2004 he released double album 'Golia e Melchiorre'. One half of the album contained the largely experimental electronic effort, 'Arriva Golia!', while the other was more stripped back acoustic with ' La Gioia di Melchiorre'. With 2006's 'Sguardo Contemporaneo' Bugo swung more towards his rock influences, while 2008's 'Contatti' once again swung back into more mainstream dance territory. He followed with 'Nuovi Rimedi per la Miopia' in 2011, 'Nessuna Scala da Salire' in 2016 and 'RockBugo' in 2018.
