Biography

Named for a Family Guy gag, Italian rock band Fast Animals and Slow Kids formed in the central Italian city of Perugia in 2007. Featuring the lineup of frontman Aimone Romizi, guitarist Alessandro Guercini, bassist Jacopo Gigliotti, and drummer Alessio Mingoli, the band initially began to write songs in English, but reverted to their native tongue for their 2010 debut EP, Questo è un cioccolatino. Later that year, the band was awarded the title of Best New Group at the Arezzo Wave Festival, a long-running event established to feature new Italian artists. Fast Animals and Slow Kids followed this success with its first full-length, Cavalli, in 2011. Hỳbris arrived in 2013, the band’s first release for independent label Woodworm Music, and the single “A cosa ci serve” was highly-praised in the Italian music press. The band also developed a reputation for extensive touring in their home country, logging 105 shows in Italy in 2013 alone. Alaska and Forse non è la felicità arrived in 2014 and 2017, after which the band made the jump to Warner Music Italy for 2019’s Animali Notturni.
