Biography

The Zen Circus is an Italian rock band formed in 1994 in Pisa by Andrea Appino and Marcello Bruzzi. Initially known as The Zen, they released the self-produced album About Thieves, Farmers, Tramps and Policemen (1998). After renaming the group, they released their first official album, Visited by the Ghost of Blind Willie Lemon Juice Namington IV (2001). The lineup evolved to include Massimiliano "Ufo" Schiavelli and Karim Qqru, who replaced Bruzzi on drums. Notable albums include Doctor Seduction (2004), which features the songs “Sweet Me” (2004) and “Sailing Song” (2004), and Villa Inferno (2008). They achieved chart success with the albums Canzoni contro la natura (2014) and La terza guerra mondiale (2016), which both reached number 10 on the FIMI Albums Chart. Their discography also includes the album L'ultima casa accogliente (2020).
