Bruno Maman was born in Metz, Moselle, in 1965. Of Algerian origin, he lived in France and was immersed in a musical universe from an early age, thanks to his family's love of music. It was while discovering Aznavour, French chanson and rock, then bossanova, that he decided to take up guitar and piano as a teenager. In 1993, Bruno Maman released his first album with Fnac Music, entitled Par Les Temps Qui Courent.
During this period, Bruno Maman also took part in the composition of Nina Morato's song, "Je Suis Un Vrai Garçon", to defend France's colors at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994. Bruno Maman went on to compose for Jane Birkin (on her album of Serge Gainsbourg covers, Versions Jane ) and Rachid Taha ( 1+1+1 ). Bruno Maman released his second opus in 1996. Entitled Aujourd'hui, this album was a synthesis of all Bruno Maman's musical tastes, from traditional chanson to jazz and a touch of folk pop. The musician spent most of the following years in London, before returning in 2005 with a third album of the same name, featuring his faithful friend and multi-instrumentalist Patrick Goraguer. This album also features the participation of Mino Cinelu, a percussionist who has worked with Miles Davis and Sting... Bruno Maman then released Faire l'Amour in 2008, still accompanied by Patrick Goraguer and Mino Cinelu...
