Bienvenido Rosendo Granda Aguilera, known as Bienvenido Granda, was born on August 30, 1915, in Havana, Cuba. He began his singing career with various orchestras, including Riverside and El Conjunto Caney. In 1941, he recorded two successful singles with the Cuarteto Marcano in Puerto Rico. His breakthrough came in December 1944 when he joined Sonora Matancera, becoming their lead singer for nearly a decade. With Sonora Matancera, he recorded over 200 songs, including "La Ola Marina" and "Pecaste de Infiel". He left the group in 1954 and embarked on a solo career, performing across Latin America and releasing albums like Canta Bienvenido Granda (1956), Cuba y Brazil (1958), and Amor Extraño (1961). Bienvenido Granda settled in Mexico, where he continued to perform until his health declined. He passed away on July 9, 1983, in Mexico City.
