Biography
Betraying the Martyrs was a French symphonic deathcore and metalcore band from Paris, formed in 2008. They released their first EP, The Hurt, The Divine, The Light (2009), which sold over 2,000 copies in France alone. In 2011, they signed with Sumerian Records for North America and Listenable Records for Europe, releasing their debut album, Breathe in Life. The album received critical acclaim, notably being named one of the top five albums of 2011 by Guitarist and Bass Mag. Subsequent albums included Phantom (2014), The Resilient (2017), and Rapture (2019). Betraying the Martyrs embarked on numerous tours, including The Survivors Tour with Whitechapel and the Breathe in Life Tour across Europe. In 2023, the group announced their dissolution with the release of their final EP, Godspeed. Other releases included the EP Silver Lining (2022).
