Biography

Upon a Burning Body, an American metalcore band from San Antonio, Texas, was formed in 2005. Over the years, their line‑up has changed; the current core members are vocalist Danny Leal, guitarist Ruben Alvarez and bassist Thomas Alvarez. The group's early work included the EP Genocide, released in 2005. In 2010, Upon a Burning Body signed with Sumerian Records and released their debut album, The World Is Ours. Their second album, Red. White. Green., was released in April 2012 and peaked at Number 105 on the Billboard 200. The band toured extensively, including performances at the December to Remember festival in 2011 and the Slam Dunk Festival and Download Festival in 2012. In February and March 2014, they participated in the Soundwave Festival. Their third album, The World Is My Enemy Now, was released mid-2014, preceded by a promotional stunt involving the disappearance of lead singer Danny Leal. Subsequent albums include Straight from the Barrio (2016), Southern Hostility (2019), and an EP, Built from War (2020). Following the release of the sixth album Fury in 2022 and the departures of bassist Joe Antonellis and drummer Tito Felix, the band consists of a trio at the time of the release of their seventh album Blood of the Bull, in December 2025.
