Biography

Beausoleil Broussard, an Acadian folk music group from Canada, was formed in 1975. The band consisted of Isabelle Roy, Claude Fournier, Jean-Gabriel Comeau, and Jacques Savoie. Named after Joseph Broussard, known as Beausoleil, a leader during the Great Upheaval. Their discography includes notable singles such as "La fille du Labouroux", "Départ pour les États", and "Restons la terre est belle", which were released in 1977. Beausoleil Broussard won the Prix de la jeune chanson française, section Premier Ministre, in France in 1978. In 2003, they released a compilation album titled Journal de bord 1976–1980, which included 21 tracks from their previous three discs.
