Biography

Mistress was an extreme metal band from Birmingham, England, formed at the end of the 1990s. The five-piece group consisted of Drunken and Misery on guitars, Dirty Von Arse on bass, Dave Cunt on vocals, and Migg on drums. Mistress gained attention for their offensive yet intellectual lyrics and heavy, downtuned sound. In 2001, they released two demos, Fuck Off and Lord Worm, which led to a signing with the underground Rage of Achilles extreme music label. Their debut full-length album, Mistress, was released in April 2002. The follow-up, In Disgust We Trust, was issued by Earache Records in June 2005 and received critical acclaim. Mistress also recorded a live session for BBC Radio 1 Rock Show in July 2005. After leaving Earache Records, they released their final studio album, The Glory Bitches of Doghead, through FETO Records on April 23, 2007. The band appeared on the Christmas special of Never Mind the Buzzcocks and performed one last gig at Damnation Festival on October 24, 2008. Mistress announced their split in March 2008.
